Dr. Jonathan Koch
Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon

I work as a senior physician at the National Center for Spine Surgery, Meir Hospital, providing both conservative and surgical treatments for pathologies of the neck and back. I enjoy research and teaching residents and young surgeons. Over the last few years, I have served as faculty for the renowned AO Spine Diploma.
I graduated from medical studies at the University of Debrecen, Hungary, with honors in 2010, and subsequently completed a one-year internship at Sheba Hospital, Tel Hashomer. Soon after, I chose to proceed with a 6-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the Meir Medical Center, Kfar Saba, between 2012-2018. During my residency, I was involved in research, including a period of several months dedicated to multiple studies in Basel, Switzerland, as well as writing articles for the medical literature. In addition, I completed 3-year certificate studies in sports medicine at Tel-Aviv University, and was then employed as a doctor for the sports teams: Hapoel Kfar-Saba in football and Bnei Herzliya in basketball. At the end of the residency, I was accepted for a two-year fellowship at the Center for Spinal Studies and Surgery at Queens Medical Center, Nottingham, England. During this period, I gained much experience in all types of spine surgeries, including complex neck surgeries, deformities in children and adults, minimally invasive surgeries, tumors, infections, and complex trauma. I was also involved in research, publications, and presentations at international conferences. After this period, I was appointed to the position of Associate Spine Surgeon at the same famous spine surgery center in Nottingham, England, for another year, and gained experience as a fully independent surgeon as well as guiding spinal fellows.
